Created by GP Girard-Perregaux professional watchmaker, paying tribute to the precision of watchmaking technology, GP 1966 Skeleton has a deep look into the precision aesthetics of the brand’s own automatic movements, the design of the hollow design components is extraordinary, and the decoration is entirely by human hands Production, unique fashion beauty is revealed.
To make professional watch connoisseurs shine is a difficult task, the key is to master the perfect balance. To unravel the mystery of today’s watchmaking technology, it is not enough to just hollow the movement. In view of this, GP Girard-Perregaux watchmakers thoroughly exposed the brand’s precision technology and watchmaking art.
In order to continue the proud tradition established by the founder Jean-François Bautte in 1791, the brand is determined to showcase the GP Girard-Perregaux watch’s superb technology and boldly express the artistic characteristics of mechanical watches. The oversized 1966 movement’s hollow structure is sophisticated and complicated. With automatic winding and an area of 13¼ centimeters (30.00 mm), the bridge structure is fully demonstrated. The hollow design reveals millimeter-wave design, gears, levers, bolts and other components that are generally not visible; chamfering, polishing, satin matte and other processes are all made by watchmakers. With superb professional technology, the brand breaks through the structural boundaries of materials, inlays the watch’s mechanical technology into cavitation, with leaf-shaped hands, and a balance wheel at 12 o’clock, these are major design highlights.
A glimpse into the essence of watchmaking
The movement comes from the well-known GP1800 movement and is treated by an electroplating process (anthracite gray ruthenium), like a metal mesh. Thanks to the rhodium-plated gear train, the dynamics of the power are clearly visible from the outside, allowing the wearer to appreciate the precision mechanical heart of 173 components (including 25 gems) and the seconds hand sweeping movement at 10 o’clock. The governor is equipped with GP Girard Perregaux’s unique ‘Microvar’ variable inertia balance wheel, and the oscillation speed of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) is amazing.
In the 38mm diameter 18K rose gold case, in addition to the 13 ¼ method sub-calibration, the Girard-Perregaux watch has a hollow pendulum made of gold, which is clearly visible through the sapphire crystal on the back. The amazingly balanced rotor ensures the best winding performance of the barrel, and the automatic winding length exceeds 54 hours.
GP1966 Skeleton’s classic design adheres to the brand’s traditional pursuit of aesthetics and the strict standards of artisans and watchmakers, laying the brand’s superb level in processing procedures and movement decoration. This perfect design features a black alligator strap and a rose gold pin buckle. To celebrate the 225th anniversary of the brand, Girard-Perregaux watches back to the founding spirit of the founder François-Bautte in the 18th century, adhering to the expertise accumulated over the centuries and continuing the brand’s heritage with perfect processing technology and precise watch standards legend.
